Hyphen Retreat 2024

We are thrilled to invite you to join us for this year's Maryland|DC Hyphen Retreat! This annual retreat is designed to strengthen and equip young adults to maximize their potential in God and ignite a passion to influence the world for the Kingdom of God. We have great expectations for what God will do in the lives of every young adult who attends this year. Galen Walters, our featured speaker, along with many other speakers will be ministering in this year's session. Gabriel Torres will be leading our band and Sandra Quinonnez will be leading our worship team. Through prayer, transformative teaching, dynamic worship, engaging sessions, and fun-filled fellowship, we believe that each participant will be powerfully impacted.

THEME: "Capacity"

In today's world, young adults are constantly challenged to juggle the demands of life, which can limit our capacity for God. However, if we shift our focus and increase our availability to Him by seeking first the Kingdom of God, we can witness an unprecedented revival. The early church was not only anointed but also fully available for God’s mission. This radical availability allowed the Spirit of God to work powerfully through them. At this year’s retreat, we will explore how we can expand our capacity for God and be more available for Him to work in and through our lives. Get ready to increase your capacity and make room for revival!

SPEAKER: Galen Walters

Galen Walters started his journey as an illustrator and graphic designer. Today, he is a creative entrepreneur, author, publisher, teacher, and consultant. Married to Mikki, he is a proud father of two daughters and grandfather to seven grandchildren. Galen's entrepreneurial journey began with AdPlex, a company he built from scratch with his wife and ran for 27 years before selling it to Private Equity in 2002. At its peak, AdPlex employed over 1,000 people across seven production facilities in North America. Currently, Galen is the CEO and Chairman of Relationshop, Inc., a retail technology and marketing firm that specializes in e-commerce and behavioral sciences to promote supermarkets. He also owns ARedStore.com, an online store for realtors.

Galen is the founder of the Leadership LAB at Go Away Farm in Bellville, Texas, and partners with Rev. Terry Shock in the Kingdom Leader Lab, which trains pastors and their spouses. He developed the 4P™ Management System and the Organizational Wellness Assessment, along with "Why/What/How/Wow!"—his toolkit for organizational excellence.

A co-author and publisher of *Into His Marvelous Light*, the original one-hour Bible study, and its companion study *Guide For Living*, Galen has also co-authored *Equipped To Lead*, a leadership handbook centered around the 4P Management System. His calling is to teach, coach, and consult, helping leaders find their purpose and create balanced lives amidst the chaos of our times. When not working, he and Mikki enjoy raising cattle, chickens, and vegetables on their organic farm in Bellville, Texas.

In addition to our featured speaker, we are honored to be joined by several others from across our district that will be teaching in various forums.
