Bruce Howell was born in Herrin, Illinois.  He was baptized in 1967. In 1979 they were appointed to El Salvador as career missionaries.  They served as a missionaries to El Salvador and Honduras for 20 years, and then served as Regional Directors of Central America and the Caribbean for two years. He was elected as the General Director of Global Missions of the United Pentecostal Church in 2001. He recently retired from this position. He and his wife have had the honor of preaching and visiting over 180 (she – 140 and he 180+) countries of the world. He attributes this to the blessings of the Lord and kindness of the United Pentecostal Church International.

He and Diane were blessed with three children.  Diane was promoted to her heavenly reward in July, 2019, after a battle with ALS. Their son Jared and his wife Loida pastor in Westerville, OH. They have two daughters, Zoe and Isabella and a son Judah.  Their daughter Leah and her husband Andrew Arrowood pastor in the Indianapolis metro area. They have a son, Zion, and two daughters Lucia and Mimi.  The Howell’s daughter, Amy, and her husband Dennis Uecker are Intermediate Missionaries of the UPCI to Latvia. They have a son, Elliott.
